Weather Forecast 10-11-2019

Weather Forecast from WRI Weather
10-11/2019 issued at 0820Z

Synopsis: High pressure over Azores with a ridge SE to Cape Verde will drift W through 12th before merging with a strong high NW of Azores on 13th. The ridge will remain nearly stationary through 13th. A trough of low pressure over S Morocco will strengthen through tomorrow and remain stationary through 13th. Farther north, a strong cold front will track through the Iberian Peninsula and north of Madeira on 13th.

Conclusion: As the thermal trough strengthens along Morocco, Zona AA will experience freshening winds through today into the upper 20's on 11th before slightly easing on 12th into the mid 20's. Gusts in the mid to upper 30's are expected over the next 2-3 days. Swells near 12-14ft today are expected to gradually lower to 9-12ft on 12th while shifting NNE in direction.

The thermal trough and area of high pressure are expected to interact with one another across Zone BB. This interaction is expected to cause winds in the lower 20's today to freshen into the mid 20's overnight tonight before easing through 11th into 12th. Gusts in the mid 30's are expected over the next 2-3 days. Swells near 12-14ft are expected to build to near 13-15ft overnight tonight, then expected to lower as winds tend to ease into the day on 12th.

Zone GG will see the most favourable conditions out of the three zones through the next few days. However, NE winds in the mid 20's are expected to persist overnight tonight, then will gradually ease through 12th into the lower 20's. Gusts in the lower 30's are expected over the next 2-3 days. Swells near 12-14ft today are expected to gradually lower through 11th into 12th while changing little in period.
