ARC Europe Weather Bermuda-Azores 29 May

ARC Europe: Bermuda - Azores
29 May 06:48z

Gale near 50N/43W with an associated cold front extending SSW to near 40N/40W, then continuing as a weak trough extending WSW to near 35N/55W, are expected to weaken as they move ENE to be centered S of Iceland on 1st.

A second Low expected to develop within the aforementioned trough axis on 31st near 43N/45W, is expected to deepen as it moves NE to near 50N/20W overnight on 01st with an associated trough extending SSW to near 43N/24W.

High centered near the W Bay of Biscay with an associated ridge extending SW and broadening across the central Atlantic, eexpected to move E across France through 31st. A second High centered near 40N/54W and is expected to drift SE to near 30N/40W on 1st with broad associated ridging NE toward W Portugal and the W Bay of Biscay. Then expected to remain stationary through the 2nd/3rd.

Conclusion: N Portions of Zone NN and far NW Portions of Zone PP are expected to experience the heaviest conditions associated with the weak cold front extending SSW toward N periphery of Zone NN through this evening. This cold front is then expected to proceed E as it weakens through 30th, impacting NW Portions of Zone PP through the overnight period tonight into the early morning tomorrow.

Thereafter, a stalled front in-between a ridge to the southeast and a trough to the northwest will extend WSW along N Zone NN and Zone PP on 30th-31st. As this interaction strengthens through 31st, Zone NN is expected to see freshening W winds through 31st into the day on the 01st. This enhancement of winds associated with the aforementioned second area of low pressure is expected to remain W of Zone PP through 31st at this time.
