Fischer Panda, founded in 1970's Germany, produces generators that are smaller, lighter, more fuel efficient and quieter than any of the conventional synchronous generators that use air to cool the stator winding, common in most systems. Fischer Panda utilizes a water-cooled asynchronous rotor that has no windings, no brushes or diodes and the Panda generator can cool the stator winding with nearly 100% efficiency. YachtCom is owned and operated by Bob and Claire Smith, who are very keen sailors.
