Bermuda to Azores Wx - 26 May

Bermuda to Azores Wx
26/05

Good morning. A gale center 42N/17W with an associated circulation extending Iberia to just W of the Azores. This will remain mostly stationary while weakening thru tomorrow evening. The gale will then move NE while dissipating just W of the Bay of Biscay on the night of the 28th.

High pressure is centered 35N/47W with associated ridging extending Bermuda to the W side of the gale circulation mentioned above. This high will drift S while weakening thru the morning of the 28th. On the afternoon of the 28th, the high will be near 27N/32W and the ridging will build NE towards Iberia as the gale mentioned above moves out of the area. That ridging will then remain in place thru the 31st.

Tomorrow morning, a developing area of low pressure will be near Grand Banks.

This will strengthen to a low near 45N/35W on the 28th when an associated cold front will extend to about 35N/55W. The low will strengthen while moving E to 46N/31W by the afternoon of the 29th when the tail end of the front is near 30N/45W. That low will then remain stationary while another gale forms on the SW side of the circulation near 37N/45W on the 30th. That gale will strengthen while moving E to the Azores by the 31st.

Conclusion: Large Swell and strong in Zones NN and PP will gradually ease over the next few days as the gale to the east weakens and moves out of the area. 27/05 the cold front mentioned above will begin to build swell in JJ and LL as it moves ESE across the area. Overall, this front is not expected to be very strong and will not result in much of an increase in conditions.
