Portsmouth to Bermuda WX
09 May

PREPARED: May 09 08:50z FM: WEATHER ROUTING INC. (WRI)

Synopsis: Good morning. A front currently extends from South Dakota, ESE'ward towards 35N/70W, then bending N'ward towards W'rn Newfoundland. This front is forecast to strengthen through tomorrow as it stretches E'ward towards 50W while remaining relatively stationary. The front is then forecast to move slightly S'ward towards 35N through the 11th while weakening during this time, stretching further E'ward towards 45W.

Broad ridging currently extends across much of the E'rn Seaboard from S'rn Florida, NNE'ward towards Maryland, and then NNW'ward towards the Central Hudson Bay. This ridging is forecast to move E'ward towards W'rn Quebec through tomorrow, while building SSE'ward across Bermuda. Thereafter the ridging is forecast to move SE'ward towards Bermuda through the 12th while broadening.

Conclusion: Generally light winds across Zone I will strengthen along the S'rn Half of the Zone, with moderate to fresh SE'ly winds ahead of the front. These higher winds will propagate SE'ward across S'rn Zone I into N'rn and Central Zone F through the morning hours of tomorrow. Thereafter the moderate to fresh SE'ly winds will gradually ease through the morning hours of the 11th across Zones I and F as the front weakens. Zone C will generally be gentle to light across much of the Zone through the morning hours of the 11th with minimal fluctuation across the Zone. Seas across all three zones will tend to range around 3-6 to 4-7 feet with higher sets in gusts as high as 9 feet. The average period will be around 5-6 seconds.
