Bardeau - St loosha

14.02N 61.00wIllustrious skipper here. It all went blank when at 11.00 local on sunday we arrived at an island where as we parked they plied us with loads of rum and rum punch and a banana . As the day progressed it all went rather hazy. I came too yesterday and it seems we are in st loosha First impressions very beautiful. Second impressions: very expensive. Wallet bruising. This makes harrods food hall look like aldi. Motleys spend time comatosing on the remains of the beer and we heading for grenadines on Thursday to see if the booze is any cheaper before returning to loosha on Saturday The blog will continue Thursday to pronounce on grenadines etc.seems we've just crossed the Atlantic and lived to tell the tale. Boats still staggering in.. Some still 500 to 1000 miles away. Seems we. read more...

Bardeau - nearly there

Today was brochure sailing. Very hot very sunny sea flatso we decided to stop so that the motleys could test el illustrious skipper theory in 4000 meters of water that ancient primeival motley-eating beasts still survive in these unexplored regions. It was also time to say goodbye to polly the repeating parrot and the remains of Doris. We had kept the remains of everything nasty on the tuna taken out of the freezer and attached to polly with a long line. I stabbed the chum bag ready to set up a shark trail but to my disappointment the motleys who were now in the sea swimming round the boat asked me politely to wait until they had finished. Laughing wildly I allowed them this favour. Anyway, once the cowards had reboarded..not waiting I suppose wasn't really an option we launched polly. read more...

Bardeau - illustrious skipper back on air

14 54 n 5357 wEl illustrious skipper has escaped from his straight jacket in the forward cabinand taken back skipperdom. It was all an innocent mistake. It started when I roamed the boat blaming the motleys for the 4 meter seas, perpetual rain and the fact that it was taking half an hour to get from the blunt end to the sharp end ...it got worse when I left the chart table window open whilst doing authorial things on my laptop one evening and a wave popped in. The next two days were spent with hair dryer in hand blowing on my satphone and laptop. Themotleys Christian Fletcher Kennedy and associates seized control of Radio Bardeau and on board media deposing the true guru. Thanks to rice, rice cakes and the hair dryer Skipper Bligh is partly back in action.at least they pushed hot dogs. read more...

Bardeau - normal service resumed....

15 04 N 53 04WWell we have released the Top Dog from his cabin the tablets seem to be working and all talk of a mutiny has subsided. Blythe I mean Bard will be given access to the blog to resumes the merciless slagging off of the crew thebARC etc, whilst I will continue on blogging at Theothersideofbardeau. Today's highlight so far was the sighting of a sea, we played by the rules and he just stood on in the 'I am big. You are small' tradition he said that he had seen 3 yachts overnight however he didn't state whether he had run them over!. read more...
