met nog 50 mijl te gaan krijgt papa dorst dus gooien we de motor opplankgas tja kan het schelen. met zo'n 7.5 knopen gaan de fanatieke racersvan fidelis of london op de finishline af. met ons enige resterende zeildat niet gescheurt is de genua op voor de image. ik denk dat we ongeveer om17:30 rond borrel tijd, nu gaan we de uurtjes aftellen. Ik en jannekezitten op de punt om te kijken wanner er land in zigt is. Ik ben wel blijdat me laatste nacht waacht erop zit en me laatste wacht om 12 uur lokaletijd begint en aan het eind van die wacht wordt alleen nog ff douchen endan alles klaarmaken zodat we snel kunnen aanleggen en naar de pubs rennen.samen met de pocolocos en oestrianen die ons op staan te wachtenwith only 50 miles to go daddy is getting thirsty so we puut the engine onfull. read more...

180 miles to go!!! The countdown has started!!!We just hope our engine won´t decide to give up, because there isabsolutely no wind. The engine stopped twice in the past 2 days, we had tochange the filters ourselves for the first time. I don´t think it was easycrawling into a boiling engine room while the boat was rolling a lot. Mumand dad only had the 3 of us for assistance as Robert fell quite badly justbefore. As always the 3 of us weren´t exactly taking things very serious soour help was pretty useless, we basically just handed them buckets andthrew things overboard. Hallloooooo,het is weer janneke met heel veel jalouzie op de booten die al zijngeariveerd ! en wij moeten nog well 300 mijll!! buhuh :(Ik en tho hoopde voor de lunch een lekkere vis te vangen maar een vis hadde lijn kapot gemaakt dus we zijn lekker omeletjes aan t maken want de 32van de 108 eitjes nog over moeten snel op, morgen gaan we weer browniesmaken :) YAAMM, in de nacht shifte speelen we vaak hang man in het engelsen papa is daar zoooo goed in het woord was steering wheel, jaa uhh er zitwel een dubbel e of a ergens ja ik weet niet precies waar maar ze zijn derwel, geeft papa dus een hele goeie hint! Very jealous of our dutch friends on board of the Poco Loco and Biba who have just arrived!!!! Well done!!!! It´s very sunny today so we´re all trying to move as little as possible because it´s just too boiling to doanything productive. Instead of reading schoolbooks, I´m reading ´´Dom perignon in een rugzak´´ which is way more educational if you ask me. I particularly liked this quote: ´´I only drink champagne when I´m happy, andwhen I´m sad. Sometimes I drink it when I´m alone. When I have company, I consider it obligatory. I trifle with it if I am not hungry, and drink it when I am. Fidelis of London - Wednesday 12 dec '12 day 16, 160nm

Het is vandaag even bijkomen geblazen,gisteravond tegen het einde van Lonneke en mijn wacht,was de wind steeds aan t draaien, we moesten de genua steeds overzettenvan stuurboord naar bakboord en weer terug met tevens onstabiele windsnelheidvan 8 tot 15 knoopjes, we vonden heteigenlijk al aardig vermoeiend, Lonneke haar wacht zat erop en Janneke kwamerbij.toen ging al snel de wind aantrekken tot een 35 knopen! Marco werd erbij gehaaldom de genua te reven, (kleiner te maken)iniddels goot het pijpenstelen, we dachten, het zal een squalletje zijn van eenkwartiertje, maar het werd er een van eenhele pikdonkere nacht lang met golven tot 6 meter, de windmeter was constanttussen de 35 en 40, met uitschieters tot maarliefst 45 knopen...er vloog weer en ander(dit keer oa het geliefde. read more...
