Louanne - Half-way point crossed
Crossing the half way point of 42 degrees west, 1050nautical miles, was celebrated with cake and ice-cream, followed by a luxurydinner of sirloin steaks on the grill, asparagus and roast potatoes. Yum! (Timeis upside down at sea so it was kind of appropriate to eat dessert first). 9CE6. read more...
Louanne - Catch of the day
We here on Louanne are now on day 5 of the crossing fromCape Verde to St. Lucia. Everything is good onboard, and there is a jovialatmosphere among us crew. We would like a little more wind (who wouldn`t), butour skipper is determined to maximise the output of our limited sail waredrobe-and believe me, we have rigged and de-rigged every possibility with variouslevels of success. On the positive side, the gentle winds havegiven us a chance to fish, and despite the many that got away (and believe methey were huge ), we have enjoyed two good dinners of thedorado-looking fish in the picture, as we have caught two such fish, each ofwhich was just right for dinner for three . That´s it for my first Mid-Atlantic blog. More tofollow. Love Beverley, First mate, cook and deckhand.. read more...
