Crazy Horse - Oct 21

We did the underwater walk yesterday and we all survived! It was great fun as the large van came to pick us up and we took an exciting ride to the other side of the island. That is the windward side of the island and it has a great reef about a mile off the shore. We arrived to catch a small boat to take us out to a landing platform, from which we got suited up for the great adventure. The headgear with the air apparatus weighed 40 kilos which we decided weighed more than Jutta. The water temp was quite a shock but other than that we had a great time going down about 10-12 ft to take pictures, hang around, and feed the fish who ate right out of our hands. We were only down about 20-25 minutes but that was enough for me. My hood kept getting fogged up and I had to splash water inside to clear it out. We all ended up getting the photos of our experience to prove our bravery. And as if that was not enough some of the group decided to go parasailing. I was not among that group but I enjoyed watching them and hearing the screams of glee.

After the walk and parasailing we had a great time at a restaurant nearby where we recounted various aspects of our adventure many times over! It was particularly nice on the ride back, to see the southern part of the island which seems to have more industry and modern buildings with many more in construction. The east side of the island has many beaches and places to snorkel and swim and resorts are in abundance. We were actually close to Silver Beach, where the younger crowd rented a house for 4 nights. They came back yesterday and said they had a marvelous time.

So today we will have the World ARC party here in the harbor. We also will do our final shopping for fruits and veggies. Some of the ladies are determined to get me to buy a bikini of all things! I have never owned one in my life so that is quite funny. The shopping adventure is on for one more day and then we get serious about our departure which takes place on Sat.
