Another beautiful day here in Mauritius. We had a light breakfast on board, and Aileen went off to the hairdresser to have the hair done, Skipper already had his done yesterday. Aileen also had her broken tooth redone at the dentist. He put in a few pins and reshaped the whole tooth and by all accounts did a great job for the equivalent of 30 euros. Neil spent the morning recovering in the scratcher, Terry spent much of the day cleaning and polishing the aft part of the boat, and particularly the white casing around the life raft, which was serviced in Cork before we left. They used metal clips on the straps around the raft to close it all up and of course these are now rusting at a great rate.
Our "KITE" was returned by the sail maker who said he was unable to repair it. He is not sure if it can be repaired at all. So we will just have to take it to S.A. where there is an agent for these Parasailors. Well that's according to Thomas, who sold us the Kite in the first place.
We spent much of the day cleaning and meeting different people around the place, just relaxing.
Dinner was a rack of lamb on board the boat, with all the usual trimmings. We had a visit from Casey and Henry from Wild Tigris. Henry was already in flying form when they arrived and added to his golden state by having some neat Gin on the rocks. Ohhhhhh, we really had a laugh with him, and he was sooooo funny in that state. Henry is making the most on his time as he flies home to the States next Friday.
Collette, that's Terry's wife, flies in here tomorrow morning at 07.30, so we all decided to have an early night, except Neil, who kept our flag flying at the late night parties.
That's all for today,
Signed :- Stephen Hyde (Skipper)
