Crazy Horse - Aug 18

Crazy Horse and Ocean Jasper are anchored here off Tongue Pt. near Whitehaven Beach. The sands are literally squeaky clean. The sand is very white and super clean . I have never seen such white beaches. It is supposedly because of that the sand orignially comes from quartz and the silica is just so smooth and clean. It is very pure. It just goes on and on. This was the beach we expected in Tahiti. We never saw it there. We are glad that we came here. It is definitely worth the stop.

We plan on going to Cairns directly from here. We want to get to Lizard I. because we heard the view is phenomenal. We may not make it to Darwin in time to see the fleet. We are working on it with out timetable but we have a long way to go.

This morning we woke up and were not very happy. We had water almost up to the top of the batteries in the battery compartment. Needless to say this did not make for a pleasant day on the Crazy Horse. Bill was frantically trying to figure out the cause of the leak. He now thinks it is from all the plumbing work that he has completed on the forward head. He has now isolated the problem and ran a new hose and valve on all the old lines. Now it doesn't leak!

It is still wonderful to be here in Australia. Sometimes looking out over the seascape it reminds us of Maine. There are pine trees dotting the islands. There is a lot of different animal and bird life but from a distance it all looks so familiar.

So apart from the daily challenges life is going well on Crazy Horse and we are lucky to be able to do this passage. We are back to life on the rolly polly sea.Watch out for that drink! It's going to tip!
