Thursday 19th June
We’re up anchor just after sunrise to motor back into Neiafu and prepare to leave. Ian is still not well – there’s none of the right medication in our box and we suspect Ronnie used it all when he was struck down in the Galaps! We get back onto our mooring then it’s all go doing customs, immigration ,port authority, fuelling up, collecting laundry, getting rid of rubbish, the outboard repair, more shopping , pies and the pharmacy! We meet Alex, who has managed to get on a yacht going to Savusavu so we arrange to meet her there and invite her to sail with us to Vanuatu. After all that, we enjoy a delicious shepherds pie, kindly prepared for us by Lawrence in the Bounty Bar and shared with Tallulah Ruby and Cleone who are both leaving tonight. Annie takes a few more photos round the town – unfortunately Mr Tui’s away for a few days but she’s agreed to send him some photos. We rest aboard after our busy morning then have a final few drinks at our local. Unfortunately, on the way there, the outboard goes again (the rubber bearing in the propeller shaft) so we won’t be leaving at the crack of dawn after all!
