Firstly , apologies to all, for the formatting issues in previous posts , it will take us a little while to get to grips with all the technology – in essence posting to 3 different blogs with 1 e-mail via a satellite link - is not as easy as it sounds J . All’s well on board , alas no fishing success as of yet - , some would say that as we are generally trucking in the 10knt zone , we are going too fast for the shoals of tuna etc that we are seeing .
After a very relaxing first 36 hours , last night bought a commander weather warning of big squalls and shifting wind direction , which meant we had to revisit the best planned watch system ( MIT may be awarding David H for the mathematical simplicity of our watch model ) – suffice to say the “men” worked longer then planned and the ladies have had a long day ! but as forecast we did see up to 35 knt squalls and K8 loved it - hitting up to 12 knts boat speed – and this is in cruising mode . J
Finally today we did get the “new” kite up to try it out - this is a recycled ( how v. green) Oy 68 (K7) all purpose 1 ¾ oz which has had an extension added to the middle.. We are looking for a name for this new addition to our sail wardrobe, so are open to suggestions via K8 blog comments - suffice to say that in anything over 15 knts it is a great and welcome addition.
Generally everything is going to plan, except the diet – David is the only one, able to resist Jens larder ( mmm that cheese!), the “weight in “ in Panama will tell all !
Bye for now
