WX ARC Caribbean 1500 & ARC Bahamas 2017
05 Nov

Prepared: November 05 11:08z
FM: Weather Routing Inc. (WRI)

Synopsis: A front stalled just to the north of Cape Hatteras will weaken as it drifts n'ward today, dissipating tonight. A trough of low pressure from the N'rn Bahamas NE'ward to 31N/76W will drift W'ward while weakening over the Florida Straits by tonight.
Moderate ridging to the north of the front to New England will broaden through today, tending to merge with broad ridging already in place at and SE'ward of Cape Hatteras. This broader ridge axis will extend along and between approximately 35N-30N tomorrow morning. This broad ridging will persist through the 07th with only a slight S'ward shift closer to/along 30N by then.

A front across the W'rn Great Lakes now will move E'ward and by tomorrow morning will extend from the St. Lawrence Valley through Central New York and then to the Tennessee Valley. It will continue SE'ward and by am/07th will extend from approximately 40N/65W SW'ward to Cape Hatteras. The front will then slow and by late 08th extend from north of Bermuda W-SW'ward to Georgia.

Conclusion: Expect NE winds in place now near the entrance to the Chesapeake to ease and veer to a SE'ly direction through today, with winds continuing to veer to a more SW'ly direction through tonight as a front begins to approach from the northwest. This front will result in gentle to moderate SW breezes tomorrow across Grid AA which will expand into N'rn and W'rn Grid BB later tomorrow through tomorrow night. Winds in the N'rn and W'rn parts of Grid AA will then veer to a more N'ly direction and increase as the front drifts into the grid, but as the front stalls, winds will remain more W-SW'ly in the E'rn and S'rn parts of Grid AA to the n'rn half of Grid BB.

Winds in Grid DD will initially be more dominated by a weakening trough across the region, but as this trough weakens and broad ridging develops, winds here will remain generally light, with this also occurring to the east across the S'rn part of the Grid BB.
