ARC USA Weather May 7

BVI-Florida Forecast
May 07 06:39z

Synopsis: Moderate to strong high pressure ridging extends across Leeward Islands. Broader ridging extends from Cuba to Florida. The strongest high pressure ridging will persist east of Puerto Rico, Hispaniola, and N'rn Caribbean through tomorrow afternoon. This ridging will then break down across Leewards on 08th.

Low located south of Nova Scotia near 40N/65W with a cold front extending SW across N'rn Florida will weaken as it moves SE across Bahamas tomorrow night, while the low strengthens into a gale near 35N/53W. Front expected to stall across central Bahamas through at least the morning of 10th.

Another High will develop off SE'rn Long Island tomorrow night with its associated ridging extending SSW across NE'rn Bahamas. Ridging is expected to persist through 10th/11thstrengthening across Bermuda and N'rn Bahamas.

Conclusion: The high pressure ridge axis currently extends W across grids D, OBC, and Gulf. The strongest conditions will persist across grid D with stronger high pressure ridging. The highest conditions will be located just north of Hispaniola, along the N'rn coast of Haiti. These conditions will fluctuate, becoming stronger during daylight hours and weaker overnight.

Grid OBC and GULF remain more protected from the E'ly trade conditions, though breezes will remain moderate to fresh through the next few days. Higher conditions will be located between islands due to funnelling with lower conditions in the lee of the islands.
