Pacific Seacraft 31 "Tigerlily" -- The Pacific Seacraft family was designed by W.I.B. "Bill" Crealock, one of the world's leading marine architects. Crealock was born in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, England and attended Glasgow University where he studied naval architecture. His designs were marked by elegance and seakindliness. These characteristics are reflected in Tigerlily.

Our Pacific Seacraft 31 is a classic cutter rig with a Leisure Furler (in-boom furling for the main) to make short-handed sailing safer and more efficient. Her "third crew member" is a Hydrovane, augmenting a Raymarine auto helm, also making short-handed sailing safer. She is equipped with Solbian semi-rigid solar panels and an Iridium Extreme satellite phone (but no SSB). We have found her to be the perfect vessel for two.

Tigerlily - More Heaving to

After a day of no wind and several hours of motoring we got what we wished for and then some! By 0630 today we decided to heave to for a few hours of much needed rest. The waves are 6-10 and the gusts are to 30 knots. We hoped it would calm a little but no such luck so we are running a beam with reefed main and staysail. We are headed about 150 COG but would like to turn east to 125, unfortunately the waves would probably cause an accidental jibe and we can't risk it. If we keep this speed and turn east soon we will be there late this evening, if not we any have to take the southern approach to the island. All crew members are hanging in there.. read more...

Tigerlily - Ready to Launch from Portsmouth, VA

The deadline is here and so are we. Despite months of preparation we have come to a Le Mans style start with last minute preparation and details. To our friends and family thanks for following our bread crumb on the World Cruising Club website. We also have a blog: www.sailblogs.com/member/farthestwave. The Farthest Wave is a lovely song by Kathy Ryan. My daughter Jackie Bowes, sang the song at our wedding just seven months ago. So much has happened since and so many friends, family and fellow sailing enthusiasts have have supported our endeavors. We are truly grateful.IMG_1722.. read more...
