Defyr - Towards Lagos: Boom issues
Ok, so we had the genaker up, but we flew it like a spinnaker with a boom. I was sleeping lightly, because I could feel things weren't going 100%. And gladly Ansgar came to wake me with great news. "We broke the spinnaker boom!". Amazing stuff! Now we don't need to use the stupid boom anymore! But ALAS, after nice shift with just a genoa and main I went to sleep, just to wake up to a horror scene. The genaker was up again and I could see that our reserve timber was gone from inside. I got a bad suspision and went outside to look. AND YES Jaakko was working on some McGyver manouvers over the boom and it looked more than scetchy..

Defyr - Towards Lagos: Birthday party
Happy birthday Milla!!My niece is turning five today, so I baked a mudcake with cheesecake stripes to celebrate! Also got yet another bingo field crossed out, even though we can't officially play our own bingo we were the first ones to get one! Now we are just trying to get as many bingos as possible before arriving to Lagos. I guess that is also the case in one of the bingo enthusiast kid boats who have now already two.Our secret weapon Jaakko really saved the day by forcing us to fly our genaker like a spinnaker. I am really not into spinnakers (I feel for you Neil in Webster) and I was really doubtfull about the whole thing and I was trying to shoot down the whole idea. But Jaakko got the captain to agree and I do have to admit that now when we are going calmly downwind 6.5-7 knots,.
