Champagne Hippy Day 4 - 22nd November

Another grey morning opened up into a beautiful sunny day with blue skies and minimal clouds. Champagne Hippy is sailing well regardless of the light winds, it must be those new Elvstrom sails! With the shifting winds, we have changed from a port to a starboard tack which has helped us gain some West in our position.

Julia and Jonnie were lucky enough to be joined by a large pod of dolphins this morning 15 or 20 so they say! There were even a few juvenile dolphins in the pod. We have interestingly had more crickets today, I’m telling myself they came with the winds earlier in the week and not as part of our fruit and veg order…

Captain Josh and first mate Matt are yet to nail the fixing of the air-conditioning which is making things a little uncomfortable down below for the crew, especially in cabins it feels like we're in the heat of the Caribbean already! Fingers crossed they can find the solution soon!

It was an early dinner this evening, cooked by yours truly (Gi), salmon and leek tray bake with salad. Unfortunately, we can’t claim to have caught this one. This brings me nicely to the lack of action from Rodney, our ironically named fishing rod who hasn’t even had so much as a nibble. Maybe our two Mahi Mahi caught yesterday meant our quota was met for today.

I should also follow up on my promise of a review of captain Josh's famous chicken and chorizo tray bake but I think empty plates say it all!

This evenings sky views were something to behold, a beautiful sunset followed by an ever-changing colourful sky pink then orange then fiery red.

A beautiful end to a peaceful day on board!
