ARC Portugal 2018 is officially up and running! This morning at 0900 the rally office opened at Mayflower Marina in Plymouth. Over the course of the day the yellow shirts checked in 16 Boats. The check in system covers the programme in Plymouth as well as information on tours and marinas for the following three week passage through Spain and Portugal. 18 yachts will be taking the start line this Sunday 3rd June and will be joined by one yacht, Amaman (Discovery 55) in Bayona.
With a few busy days of provisioning, boat preparations and getting to know fellow participants, crews have a fun few days ahead of them. Tonight marks the start of the social programme where many crews are meeting at the Royal Plymouth Corinthian Yacht Club for dinner and drinks overlooking Plymouth Sound and the ARC Portugal start line. With a mix of knowledge, experience and background amongst the fleet, the night should be full of excitement as they all get to know one another.
As people continue to arrive over the next few days, skippers and crew have Rally briefing, Skippers Briefings and crew suppers to look forward to before setting sail Sunday morning to their first destination, Bayona in Spain.
