Thursday 29th October 2015 in Saint Lucia, marked the official ARC 2015 Launch and Sponsor Cheque Presentation in which the Saint Lucia Tourist Board (SLTB) hosted sponsors, partners and the media. The programme included official remarks and a sponsors cheque presentation.
Mr Louis Lewis, Director of SLTB, recognised the positive impact that ARC has on St.Lucia and its economy. The Tourism sector is extremely important to Saint Lucia’s economy and the ARC certainly contributes to that by bringing over 1200 sailors to Saint Lucia's shores, as well as friends and familiy members who fly to the island to welcome them. He also noted that value and contribution from ARC participants go further than just economical but also environmental referring to the contribution made by participants helping with the regeneration of Saint Lucia’s rainforest through the Tree Planting project, a staple on the ARC Event Programme.
Mr Paul Ash, IGY Rodney Bay Marina General Manager, is looking forward to experiencing his first ARC and meeting with participants. He and his team are ready to welcome ARC 2015.
