Start of Atlantic Cup 2012 - Thursday 03 May

Start of Atlantic Cup 2012 - Thursday 03 May
05 April 2012

With only a week to go now the Atlantic Cup will soon be starting from Nanny Cay, British Virgin Islands on Thursday 03 May. The 9 yachts that are set to take the start will depart Tortola for the cooler waters of Bermuda, before heading west across the Gulf Stream to Hampton, Virginia and other east coast ports.
The WCC staff are already in Tortola making preparations for the arrival of the boats, with the office due to open on Saturday 28 April at 0900.

Most of the yachts are veterans of previous Caribbean 1500 and Atlantic Cup rallies, returning for the fun and cameraderie of sailing in a group; while others completed the ARC in 2011 and are looking for a companionable way to sail to the US for a summer's Sateside cruising.   For a few boats, the Atlantic Cup will be their first rally experience, and we extend a warm welcome to all!

The fleet will be starting from Nanny Cay where General Manager Miles Sutherland-Pilch and his team are keen to build on the success of hosting the Atlantic Cup in the past and are ready to welcome the yachts again.
