Xenial - Day 2 - Cruising along

Our first night on board was a mixed bag: One the one hand we didn't hit anything, on the other none of us got much sleep. During the day however we had no issues catching up and napping was by far the most popular activity today.
Other items of notice, in no particular order:
a. We came very close to an abandoned and empty rubberboat. The captain promptly emailed rescue authorities with exact location.
b. We passed the 24h on board mark. Some non-alcoholic beer was opened for the occasion.
c. We spontaneously broke into song, signing In the Jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight... This somehow translated into Highway to Hell being played on our speakers, but I am still not sure what the musical nexus is.
d. We tested the generator. It works!
e. We were passed in the stern by another Swedish sailboat. Apparently calling them up on the VHF to say hello would be extremely awkward for the Swedes, so, despite my best efforts to convince the Scandinavians to socialize, we maintained radio silence.
f. We had an excellent story being told about Russian oligarchs coming to Sweden to hunt 600+ geese in one day, with anecdotes about caviar, helicopters, wives left in Copenhagen and girls from Paris. If you are interested in hearing more, contact Janne.
g. We had gulasch for dinner, one of the meals we prepared and froze last week to be able to easily prepare. If we don't eat it all before Grenada, we know what the Wehtje family will eat at Christmas.
h. We had a mysterious Norwegian boat circling around while we passed them, and according to an eye witness, they shot something in the sky. If you feel like googling "Dr. Fridtjof Nansen", we would be glad to receive more information. You can email us at [email protected], only text no pictures!

643 miles to Cape Verde as of time of writing.

Over and out,
Mavi
