Moonflower 3 - We’re Back!

Dearest supporters,

Our sincere apologies for the radio silence yesterday rest assured all is well.

Well, where to start... The ocean has certainly thrown some curve balls our way in the last 48 hours. Be it the 100th the flying fish attempting hari-kari last night during night watch, landing bulls-eye in one of our buckets to a choir of screams; or perhaps it was Jake mysteriously disappearing for 45 minutes yesterday morning and returning with McDonalds breakfast wraps right in time for Mulan? …or was it the unexplained meteorological anomaly which gave us a green sky with 4 rainbows for sunset?

It’s hard to say, but we think gold prize goes to the weather, which continues to prove a fickle temptress. A surprise squall whipped us up yesterday afternoon, the wind changing from 3 Notts to 38 within a heartbeat, accompanied by an assault of lightning and rain, forcing the majority of us to sweat it out (literally) under the hatches. For 5 gruelling hours Captain Chloe surfed our 44 foot home through the storm. Good news, as we’re now dry, but bad news, as the storm blew us 40 miles in the wrong direction and the wind has now left us.

We’re hoping for some smoother sailing for the final week, crossing fingers we’ll be in St Lucia for a Sunday sunset rum.

As the old sailing adage goes: A green sky at night…. you’ll be in St Lucia by Sunday.

Your Moonflowers

xxxxxx
