Escapado - Day 2 - 23 November

Our first night sail together was eventful to say the least. We weren’t expecting the doldrums so quickly or the angle grinder to come out so early on. After a sheet became jammed in a block there was a big team effort to dismantle it and re rig in the dark. ‘Sunrise was stupidly pretty’ says kat, while the rest of us slept through it... I’m sure we will catch many more. We have practiced putting different sails up today, unfortunately the asymmetric spinnaker ripped but we’re on the way to fixing it! We have all enjoyed the wind picking up in the afternoon and trying out the code zero, asymmetric and symmetric spinnaker... we will get more efficient at rigging them! Charlie and Tom have the highest speed at 13.9 knots however there is still some competition going on during the night shift.
