As most mornings in Las Palmas do, it dawned bright and
sunny. New cruising chute up and ready. Out to the start line on time &
off.
Down the coast of Gran Canaria was upwind. Eventually
like many others we accepted a little help from the engine. Otherwise we would
still have been there. As it is, we are now doing very nicely at about 6
knots, about 50 miles South of the island on a course of 220.
Well that's our captain's info for you - now its
over to me! Life aboard is settling into a nice routine and my carefully planned
watch rota is working well so far - but it is of course early days. As I write
this, I have three swinging hammocks, full of fruit and veg, to catch my eye and
distract me from the job in hand. Two crew are napping in the saloon around
me, and all is quiet.
I have captured the first sunset and sunrise of this
adventure and made full use of the wifi signal whilst we had
it. I haven't quite got my sea legs yet so I'm going to
keep this brief, for today, and sign off. Bee
