Sally - Sailing to Canary Islands

Hi,
in the first post from Sally we make a quick look back and share our reflections on the trip from Sweden to Canary Island.
We started our adventure in May and have had a wonderful time so far,  meet with wonderful people, made some new friends, visit a lot of nice places, gained new knowledge. We have experienced the effects from a North Sea storm blowing sand from the beach to the harbor we were in and caught a net in the propeller. What 30+ knots from N can do to the sea state of Bay of Biscay, how 40+ knots from N affect the the Atlantic. We have seen dolphins, bioluminescence during night sails, experienced a collision with a whale, anchored over white sandy bottoms in crystal clear water.
Still we have this feeling that it would have been nice to stay even longer in some places and to visit places that there was no time to visit at all. We think this feeling is something we share with many cruisers and for us it means that we will try to go to visit those places when we are back in Europe.

We have written about our adventure along the European coast down to Canary Islands on our blog svsally.com where we also post photos from the trip. Most of the material on the blog is written in Swedish and we are about to make it available in English so we can share with more readers.

We also have a YouTube channel  Sailing Sally where we publish videos from our adventure. We have videos from the last season and are currently working on videos from this season and plan to start publish soon.

See you in Las Palmas

Cheers
Jonas and Carina
