Sweet Dream - Day 119 May 13, 2019

Lars and Glen started the day drift snorkelling with the dinghy. I baked a pan of scone bread. We bid farewell to Glen and Mary, who were on their way to tour the island, motored over to Mango and joined in the fun for George’s birthday party. Patrick and Brigita were gracious hosts. We had good times with George, Bobbi, Tony and Susan from Cabana, JF and Marie of Cassiopeia, Peter and Nicky of Chanto, while the”boys” played with a drone “toy” we ladies discussed lots of aspects of sailing life. Later the discussion turned to Fiji, NZ and Oz. So exciting looking ahead to new vistas! We reluctantly bid them all adieu and returned to get our Sweet Dream ready for the journey back to Tahiti. We had all marvelled at the Polynesian house boat that puttered by during George’s party, then Lars and I spied another one anchored at Fare as we motored out of the pass. Such charming little craft! Lars and I spent a few minutes day dreaming about spending a long time on Huahine with the aquatic playground of turquoise water and the feathery green tree clad peaks for shelter and coolness. Oh, and I almost forgot the delicious floral fragrance that emanates from that verdant richness. Sigh.... Now we are on way back to Tahiti on a close hauled tack with three meter waves on the nose. Very much like riding a roughly broken cow pony with her nose down and her heels up going at a at full gallop!
