Danica I - Goodbye St Lucia

Captain and I have spent almost a month in Saint Lucia and Martinique. This was our first taste of the Caribbean. We are leaving this island with better understanding of the history and culture. I have bonded with the ladies at the Face to Face Spa and Ziggy's Hair Salon in Rodney Bay. Most women here spend a great deal of time and money on their hair. Nancy and I visited a store that had three isles of hair and beauty products. It was quite an experience browsing through the lingerie corner as well. It brought back the memories and chuckles of our Turkish outing a few months ago. I may have to add a "Victoria Secret Around the World" album to the Gallery if the trend continues.

Tonight, is our last evening in Rodney Bay. Crews from S/Vs Hope and Danica walked to the famous Friday Night Fish Fry on the shore of Rodney Bay. We feasted on wonderful BBQ tuna and marlin fish steaks, along with rice, banana salad and coleslaw. The sunset was a lovely reminder that we will be heading back to the Caribbean Sea tomorrow, January 12, 2019. In total, 28 boats plan to set sails at 12:00 noon towards Santa Marta, Colombia, with the anticipated arrival date between January 16 and 18. We hope that S/V Marja ll will have their yacht repairs completed soon and catch up with the rest of the fleet in Panama.
