Murphys Law - Day 5 // Taking in water

One more eventful day for Murphys Law. During the night the uphaul for the spinnaker boom failed, so everyone had to get on deck, without snoozing the alarm clock. This morning we were taking in water. It tasted salty, which is both good and bad news. In the bright side, we are not wasting fresh water. In the other side, the ocean is coming into out boat!

The salty taste indicated this was from the outside. After systematically checking all the seacocks, the electric bilge pump turned out to be a trojan horse, as it decided to invite a small portion into our boat, rather then playing its usual role as bouncer - kicking unwanted visitors out.

We plugged the exit hose, and will have a look if we can get the pump back to work. In the meantime, the leak has stopped and we'll have to rely on the two manual pumps.
