So today is day 8 in the big blue. Its hardly surprising something were to go a little wrong at one point! Due to a big drop in wind we decided today was the day for cleaning ourselves and other things. We got a little over zealous and put the washing machine, the water maker and all got in the shower (not all together, that would be weird….) in one go and overloaded our generator. It then with a cough and splutter told us to go stuff it and decided it didn’t want to work anymore. Despite Rods extensive knowledge and Stephens help and some good old fashioned hit it with a hammer should do the trick engineering it is still not working….
I’m sure tomorrow will bring a new day and therefore a fix it attitude and we’ll get it working again.
Today we finally got some decent sunshine and have all at points managed to grab a few zzz’s on our trampoline. Long may this warm weather continue but with a little more wind we hope.
Despite the drop in wind we have managed to keep up a reasonable boat speed, As we close in on the half way mark the promise of white sandy beaches and rum is calling us.
Although I would love to regale you with stories of the deep Atlantic Ocean we have very little to report today. After a week at sea we needed a ‘chill’ day. Tomorrow the fishing line is going back out. After our significant Tuna haul on the 2nd day we haven’t fished in case we caught the same again!!! We will ensure we do something exciting to be able to share with you tomorrow.
