Dobro Dani - Log day 2 - Whoop Whoop’in Along

With the first 24 hours at sea under our keel, Dani’s crew on board are slowly getting used to life at sea. We have 5 crew on board and the watch rotation is 4 hours on and six off, each overlapping of 2 hours. We had our traditional first night at sea dinner consisting of homemade Shepherd’s Pie. The winds toyed with us from the start line and throughout the afternoon and into the evening hours, finally they came up around midnight and we were able to sail along, doing a very comfortable 6-7 knots. During that time, we were met with a small pod of dolphins wanting to play with us. It was so dark that the only way we knew that they were there, was from the bio-luminescence lighting up around them as they swam through the water - quite a sight to see. Again today, the winds have been up and down, our thought this morning was that we are going to have to motor most of the day, but luckily enough we found some wind, and have sailed the better part of the day. As the sun is starting to set, the crew are heading into their second night of a hopeful beautiful starry sky and a silvery moon, as S/V Dobro Dani whoop whoops her way down to Mindelo. WHOOP WHOOP!!!
