Weather Forecast 11-11-2019

Weather Forecast
11/11 at 08:01z

A strong ridge of high pressure currently centered over the Azores extends ridging E'ward into Iberia and S'ward toward the Cape Verde Islands. The center of this ridge is forecast to remain near or just north of the Azores through the morning of the 15th as ridging remains strong near the Canaries but begins to weaken near the Cape Verde Islands by the late 13th into the 14th.

A strong thermal trough of low pressure currently extends along W'rn Morocco, Western Sahara and as far south as Mauritania. This trough is forecast to remain strong into the morning of the 14th before beginning to moderate later that day. The trough near Mauritania will retreat N'ward by the 13th.

Conclusion: For Zone AA, conditions are forecast to be the worst out of the three zones in the forecast below. As the interaction between the aforementioned trough and ridge interact, it is forecast that strong breezes into the middle 20s with gusts into the middle 30s are likely. The strongest of winds are forecast to be found in between the islands of the Canaries, where the largest of swell up to 13ft is forecast to be found near the coast of Morocco/Western Sahara. Lower swell will be found on the W'rn side of the zone.

For Zones BB and CC, gusty winds are also forecast to occur due to the thermal trough and ridge interaction through the day today. Conditions are then forecast to gradually abate as the interaction between these features weaken.

Nonetheless, large swell will begin to abate by the 12th and 13th where gusty winds up to 25-30kts will also be likely.
