ARC Weather forecast 11/12/2015
11/12/2015

Synopsis: Good morning. High pressure ridging extends from near Madeira SW to the N Leeward Islands. This ridging will weaken near Madeira tomorrow as a cold front approaches the area. However, ridging is expected to persist between about 65W and 20W from 25N to 10N for the next several days.

A gale centered near 42N/37W with an associated cold front extending SW to near 30N/45W. This gale will move ENE and be just north of the Azores tomorrow morning. At that time, the tail end of the cold front will be near 32N/30W. The gale will then lift NE towards 48N/18W through the evening of the 13/12 as the cold front begins to impact the Iberian Peninsula.

A weak cut off low will has developed just east of Bermuda near 33N/61W. This low will move ENE towards 34N/51W through tomorrow morning while strengthening. Tomorrow evening the low will be near 33N/47W with a weak cold front extending to the southwest to near 26N/50W. This low will then begin to track more NE while reaching the Azores on the morning of the 14/12 at which time the tail end of the cold front will be near 25N/35W. The low will strengthen to a gale while moving towards 45N/20W through the morning of the 15/12.

Conclusion: Conditions will continue to remain relatively consistent with E trade winds and E-NE swell across much of the area. The few exceptions are that winds on the N side of LL will be more SE as the cut off low passes by to the north. This cut off low will also produce a period of NW swell in the N area of grid KK. Otherwise, conditions will change little over the forecast area in the next few days.
