All times in GMT/UTC PREPARED: November 20 04:17z Synopsis: A strong ridge of high pressure now extends from 20N/40W NE to W of Portugal. This ridge will shift W and will extend from 20N/40W NE to 45N/20W late on the 21/11. The ridge then shifts W, and will extend from 20N/53W NE to the Azores through the 25/11. A complex gale is now centered near 31N/52W, and will meander through the 21/11. The gale then lifts NE to 45N/42W through the night of the 22/11, then dissipates on the 23/11. A strong associated frontal boundary extends from 15N/49W NE to 35N/40W. This front will drift E through the night of the 21/11, then weakens rapidly while drifting NW, extending form 23N/48W NE to 40N/35W on the 23/11. The front then dissipates on the 24/11. To the W, a ridge of high pressure extends from Cuba NE to Newfoundland, and this will shift E, extending form 25N/55W NE to the Grand Banks on the 23/11. The ridge then shifts E and merges with the above ridge on the 24th. Conclusion: E trades are expected to persist over the next 2-3 days across all the race grids, with winds increasing shifting more NE from E to W across grids NN and HH tomorrow evening. Winds within grid PP will shift from E-SE to a more E direct tomorrow evening. Swells are expected to remain out of the E over the next several days.
