Synopsis: Good morning. Ridging from high pressure centered near NW Iberia extends S to west of the Canaries to 20N/25W. The high pressure will become re-positioned near Madeira on the 15/11, with the associated ridging strengthening and expanding south thru the Cape Verde Islands into the 17/11. The high pressure will move NE toward Gibraltar thru the 18/11. Elsewhere, a thermal trough extends from waters east of the Cape Verde Islands N along the West African Coast to the Canaries, and then NE to Gibraltar. This trough will persist thru tomorrow night, then gradually weaken on the 15/11-16/11.
Conclusion: NE winds will be their highest this morning due to the interaction between the ridging and the thermal trough then ease slightly later in the day. Winds will then remain NE at a fresh breeze for the next couple of days. In grid GG, the sea state will mostly be longer period NW swell which will gradually ease over the next couple of days. The sea stat in Grid MM will mostly be a NE wind driven sea for the next couple of days. This will peak up near 11 feet later today then gradually ease. The highest swell in both grids is expected to be close to the African coast.
