Escapado - 30th November

A smooth day, the first of this trip. We flew the spinnaker all day through a rough early morning squal with winds varying between 20 degrees for 1.5 hours. Still slightly traumatised by the helming after not much practice with a spinnaker it was definitely worth it for the ‘Champagne sailing’ for the rest of the day. Eddies contract was finalised, press photos have been taken at the nav table with papers and the official Escapado Club T-shirt, to be released in the near future. It’s safe to say as the day came to an end team watch out (myself, Tom, Eddie and Alister) have been thinking of stunts to spice up the blog. Perhaps throwing in a gybe, a voluntary MOB or put the engine in reverse while the battery’s are charging... no one volunteered for the mob and we want to keep the boom attached to the mast so Eddie taken one for the team and whipped the engine into reverse. If we lose to rainmaker now we know why...
