Enigma - Day 6 - the final dash

Subject: Day 6 - the final dash
Yet again we are in the company of larger yachts. The boat behind us is flying a large spinnaker so its only a matter of time before he passes us. I have to say he looks great from here.

However...we have a cunning plan...

Our jury rigged pole is still in one piece allowing us to at least make some good way. The rip in the aluminium is at at a weak point where the uphaul/downhaul ring is attached. The genoa, whilst not the prettiest of sails, has propelled us along at a steady 6-7 kts and has worked really well polled out. The approach to Sao Vincente is going well and we feel we are on the correct side of the Rhum line. Time will tell. Hopefully we'll finish today and not slip into tomorrow morning.

Oh...the cunning plan? Well, that would be telling...

P.s. a cold beer would be nice and might just be enough to make us tell you.

Safe sailing,

Paul, Viv, Allan and Diane
