Fat Cat Gets Line Honors in 2011 Caribbean 1500

Fat Cat gets Line Honors
November 16, 2011

Delayed at the start, the Morelli 80 catamaran Fat Cat took line honors in the 22nd running of the Caribbean 1500.

In Hampton last Friday, Fat Cat reported to Rally Control that they would not make the start gun thanks to engine trouble, and we're sorting it out at the dock as the majority of the fleet sailed away ahead of them. In the end, the delay did not matter much.

They blasted along at double-digit speeds, passing the fleet - including the Tripp 78 Blackbird whom they'd challenged on the eve of the start - and were first to finish in Tortola.

Fat Cat is currently anchored in Virgin Gorda for the evening, and plan on coming over to Nanny Cay sometime tomorrow morning.

Congratulations to Fat Cat for a passage well done. Rally Control expects Blackbird in sometime tomorrow morning, with more boats to follow.
