A warm welcome to Marina De Lagos

Its warm and sunny here in Lagos in the Algarve. It is very nice to be back for those that have been before, and even nicer to be experiencing this area for the first time. Currently 7 ARC Europe yachts are safely checked in and under the bridge, with yachts Aniara II, Luna, Kinship, and Talisman due in over the next few hours. We look forward to welcoming you all here over the next 24 hours or so and believe all yachts who which started with the event in Santa Maria last Sunday will be here before the prize-giving on Sunday.

Yachts Sookie and Zingara were once again neck and neck on arrival into Lagos, an ongoing mini friendly competition has been made evident as the event has unfolded. Sookie took line honours, and also proudly proceeded through the channel already dressed overall! This is definitely a record for the first yacht to show their code flags.. so congratulations to them! We shall have to wait and see who takes the win after corrected time, not that it matters much!! Following in behind them was yachts Ninfea at 0430 this morning, the Nora Simrad and Purrfect close behind. Crew from Ninfea were giddy to be here after a cracking 5 days at sea with Roberto opening a bottle of Champagne, thanking his crew, his boat, his new sails and Kieran for taking his lines... 



Once checked in, the bridge opens and boats can take their berth inside the marina, where all facilities are just a 2 minute walk away. We look forward to seeing participants at the happy hour this evening at 'The Lighthouse' followed on by a Marina De Lagos BBQ on the beach from 1930.
