Hot Stuff - Log Day 1 - Starting line

Finally! We're out at sea!

The day started with an engine failure that talented skipper Lizzy repaired with a little help from our Swedish gentlemen neighbours at the Marina. What a colourful show. There were so many ships leaving Las Palmas harbour, so many flags of all kinds, musicians, crowds that had climbed up the water breakers to waive us goodbye.

The guy at the microphone seemed to be delighted ... una embarcacion de señoritas! Saran las primeras en llegar a Santa Lucia!

We're all feeling good, except for the bananas dripping on a berth needed rearrangement. Now we're all in the cockpit watching the boats spread out as they find they're course for tonight.
