Halcyon of Hebe - Halcyon on the ARC - Epilogue

Well, the ARC is over. A great event and and great fun. The crews
and boats are dispersing to the 4 corners of the world. Some are
continuing their journey on the World ARC, many are stayting in the
Caribbean for a period, while some are already back in damp, dreary
northern Europe.

On Halcyon, Sarah has gone back to England to relieve a beleagued
husband, who had been defending bravely on all fronts but was in
need of reinforcements. Rachel has come out to see Alistair - you'll
be able to read of their travels in the travel section of the Daily
Mail around new year. Lynda has come out and taken Steve off to a nice
hotel. Jo, Bridget and Lizzie arrived on Friday so that we 5 are
together again after what seems an age. It is very good to be with
them again.

Last night was the ARC prizegiving. A fun party with plenty great
local music (I'd never previously heard 'O come all ye faithful'
played by a steel band to a Caribbean rhythm). We were called up on
stage 3 times, although once was just for volunteering to run the radio
net. James won the 'Junior Cup' for first under 16 on corrected time.
Halcyon won class 'H' of the cruising division. We were presented with
a very nice cup, which we were allowed to keep for about 35 seconds,
and a tankard with which we can gather dust for many years.

Today, we leave Rodney Bay marina and most of the ARC crews. We're
planning a Christmas reunion on Bequia and it's time to start looking
forward to the next adventure....
