NaughtyNes - Log Day 6

Less than 2000 miles to go!  The weather has settled into a routine slowing building to a steady 9/10 from mid afternoon to late evening, and then dropping off through the night to nothing at dawn. Then a few knots by mid morning, and then 5 or 6 knots until the afternoon increase.  The upside is that the direction is good for us, the sun is shining and perfect conditions for doing very little but relax.

Nigel is in his element having all day to plan, prepare and cook the most fantastic meals with endless supplies of freshly cooked flapjacks and other treats in between.  The main race at the moment is to be able to eat our way through the 19 crates of fruit and veg that Nigel ordered in a moment of over enthusiasm when provisioning.  However being rather clever he did have the forethought to also buy a juicer and so far nothing has gone to waste.  Pints of orange juice, banana smoothes and carrot juice keep flowing. ,We did however draw a line on pepper juice, and now we have only 43 to go.  Unfortunately these appear to be lasting.

Nick has joined in with the treats serving up a fine banana cake (thanks for the recipe Sue).  This however only dispatched 5 bananas, so lots more cakes to come . Yum yum!

The fishing is going well, and at the moment it is 4 (1 lost, 2 put back) to Nigel and 1 to Paul.  Today Paul lent Nigel a lure and to his dismay a 3 kilo Tuna virtually jumped on the hook as it went into the water.  Tasted very nice in a stir fry this evening.

11 knots of wind, 7 knots SOG, direct course to St Lucia, a beautiful sunset, calm seas, good company, fine wine and fat tummies.  Perfect!!

Dave and the Naughty boys.
