Agape - Day 5 Vapour trails

What a night! We spent most of the early part of the night watching dolphins in the dark - not normally very exciting but with the phosphorescence in the water they were leaving glowing vapour trails as they darted around the bow wave and the wake at the side of the boat.  Utterly delightful to watch.

Sailing wise - today has been decision time.  We have decided to give up on going South and have turned to the West.  Apparently it is not normally like this here (!) but the trade winds seem to be particularly far South this year and we are going to try and pick our way through the weather system that is currently approaching from the North West and hope that this gets us to St Lucia a bit quicker.

On the sailing front, the last couple of days have been lovely - reaching all day long at a TWA of 90-120 degrees (albeit in different directions, given this mornings change of heart) with 7-14 knots of wind and a very gentle sea state indeed, although there was a patch of the dreaded motoring in the night as the wind died altogether, again.

Fishing not so successful today, one and a half lures gone (yes, half a one, bitten off just below the hook, typical) and nothing to add to yesterdays lunchtime catch.

The Agape Bakery, run by Gillian and Willow, has been going fantastically well though.  Victoria sponge yesterday, apple crumble being put together as I speak.  As far as I'm concerned until we start running out of baking ingredients there is no rush whatsoever to get to the other side.  There has been some talk of hawking cakes around nearby boats over the radio so I have declared the radio broken until further notice.  Time to go and polish off yesterdays sponge cake.
