Lady BouBou - Whoop Whoop Whoop.....Boooooooo!

Whoop Whoop Whoop..... Aaawww Boooooooo!

Excuse my outburst, I should explain!

Whoop Whoop Whoop!

Yesterday afternoon, we got a little breeze. Yesterday evening we got some wind (and nothing to do with the lovely Chicken Passanda for dinner). Last night, it filled in to a steady Northerly F4 from
nowhere and close hauled with the gennaker up we were making 10-11 knots, solid and no surfing so real speed! Very happy and vary impressed with LBB. It lasted for 5 hours and we made 54Nm and in the right direction eating up the miles to St Lucia. All the way through my watch and most the way through my standby, so it was a lucky night for me... But Then.... Guess what happened......

Aawww Boooooooo!
Well the best way I can explain it is nothing began to happen.....AGAIN! So we began to bob and roll and just generally not make much speed at all. We averaged 6 knts through the night which isn't bad, but it doesn't half get frustrating. She doesn't feel comfortable or happy when she's underpowered, and after the hulls singing for the previous 5-6 hours, to hear her creaking moaning and groaning again was a sad return to the past 2 days.

However, never fear,... In the words of Baldrick, "My lord, I have a cunning plan."

I cant tell you too much just in case some high tech hostiles are reading this on their boat and if the whole fleet follows, it sort of defeats my objective...To start to climb back up the field! Safe to say, we may take a turn out on our own for a few days, but I'll know more clearly after todays weather report!

For those of you who haven't had hours to check where we are in class, in class corrected, overall and overall corrected, heres a brief synopsis.

5th in class (6/10, could do better!)
7th in class corrected (not good, we should be better than this but our handicap is pretty severe! Thanks WCC!)
49th Overall (Not too disappointed with this but hoping for a strong 10 days ahead)
122nd Overall corrected (Not happy with this, but not much we can do about it. Being beaten by our handicap really and in light winds, they're less accurate....However, anyone who knows me knows we will claw out way back up the standings or I'll break me and the guys trying!)

So all in all everyone and everything is doing well. I've been shooting the breeze....No really, I've had my air rifle out and there's nothing to shoot at...... Tonight we'll be having sweet and sour pork with noodles so looking forward to that.

Just a small personal message to follow:

A big hi to Bruces 5 special girls!!
Emma, Jessie, Maddy, Olivia and Chloe.
Everything is fine and fun, healthy and safe xxxxx

Thats all from me today peeps, going to get back up on deck before this force 2 knocks us down.

Love to all from all aboard
