Let It Be - Log Day 4 Hurray

Well after 4 days at sea with all at home thinking we had gone mad and going the wrong way we hope to prove to the contrary. Being routed more east and southerly has kept us in the breeze to get south before the predicted depression coming from the north arrives. As of 1000 25/11 we are tramping along at over 7knts making 253COG. So what have we been up to- well the main halyard came away at dust on the first evening ! - using the topping lift we on our way again in 40 mins good crew work. Excitement came the next day when on launching the Chute the halyard snap shackle did not engage correctly and up to the top of the mast it went wrapping around the back stay. All I can say is that it is no fun being up a 19m mast in a rolling sea but the mission was accomplished. This was shortly followed by the catching of what looked like an Ikea or Immig bag around the prop( they get bloody everywhere don't they). So yesterday whilst becalmed for a few hours the Skipper went over the side and bag cut away. On hearing just how nice the water was and that I had not been eaten the rest of the crew opted for a quick lap of the boat!! Not sure they would have been so keen when an hour later we were trailed by a fair size shark! On the fishing front have caught a small Dorado this morning - much better than the Gannet that decided our lure would make a tasty breakfast the day before. Last evening we were treated to a visit from a pod of some 100 dolphins - just magic. All for now from the Happy Crew aboard Let It Be
