Espumeru - 748 nm left

Hello,

Pos 17 46N 48.33W
748NM to Rodney Bay
ETA 125hrs from now!

For some reason our main mails have not gone trough during the last 24 hrs, it might be because I added some photos of the really nice Mahi Mahi that we got yesterday!

I hve now rsend some of the mails without pictures so maybe they will arrive!

Today we have had moderate winds and a few squalls wit winds upp to 30knots and really heavy rain. I must admit that it is quite nice...and one knows that the sunshine will be there in no less than 20 minutes!!! At least it beats Scandinavia where you also know its gonna be there BUT...........in April!!!!I

Right now everybody is a sleep and we are doing some 6 knots and the wind is between 10 - 13 knots. We have a boat on our portside approx 8NM from us but they dont answer any VHF calls so we dont know who they are or if they are within the regatta.
As I stated in a previous mail we lost contact with our Norwegian rivals (I guess we were too fast for them) so we have been all alone lately, which feels nice, It got a bit crowdy out here with all sorts of monkey people around:=)

We assume that the first boats reached Saint Lucia today and we think that we will reach latest by next thursday and if the winds are favorable to us maybe already on wednesday.

The boys seem to have forgotten all other type of life and are wery happy with their exsistence onboard. They do as always, wake up, have breakfast, go to school, have lunch, play etc.... they just save 2hrs a day not risking their lifes on a dangerous road going to and from school. And those hours can be used for fishing or plotting competitors on the sea chart or just chill on the deck and counting fly fish or dolphins! Its a pretty shitty way of spending those extra free hours but hey, it could be worse;=)

I guess that I should go out and keep my watch instead of writing stories, who knows what I can find there..... at least a huge ammount of plankton that shines like small diamonds around the hull of the boat!
