Liberty - If ITs Not One Thing.....

22 38N 27 36W Well a fantastic days sail was had, beautiful sunshine and
20 to 22 knots wind. We ran the Fisher Panda for a while whilst playing
on the PC with SSB and Modem and bang! off went the generator. We all
piled into the bilges again (as we seem to do a lot on
Liberty)..checked the oil and POP, the lid from the oil filler went
flying, can we find it? Of course we can,t. No we do not have anyone on
board with 3metre arms who can reach under the generator to find the top
and Michael Phelps is not available..we are thinking about sending
10Year Old down there tomorrow to see if he can find it..No cooling
water going into the generator so in good eco friendly fashion we will
be depending fully on Duogen ( the water propellor generator) which
should curtail our playing on the PC and SSB activities a bit.

Listened to "Herb" weather this evening and the man is a genius. Great
to know that we have no nasties awaiting us in the near future, a good
night sleep is in order. The watches are telling a little (four hour in
the day, three hour in the night) we all seemed a little weary today.
10Year Old seems to be a bit seasick in the mornings but gets better
later..but he seems very cheerful about it all.

This post will probably only ever appear if we manage to solve the
generator challenge...or come up with another brilliant idea so I am
very, very hopeful!!

Rigged Liberty as a Cutter Rig today to catch the wind ( its another
long story) and we are even thinking about flying the Bimini, hope we do
not meet any other boats ......
