Liberty - Birthday Party and Flying Squid

Today is PDog's birthday so as a treat for him we will allow him extra hours on watch! Birthday cake and candles tonight and much silliness required for the day. I may even learn how to upload photos today but no promises..

I spent most of the day yesterday learning how to send an email and download gribs...I thought folks went sailing to get away from all of this stuff!

Flying fish on deck this morning which I did not have the heart to cook. Also found a flying squid....is that a well known species? Do squid really jump out if the sea and onto decks of boats??

It has been a quiet night with light winds again. Liberty does not relish light winds being quite a hefty lady with a small rig but we travel in comfort and completely powered by the Duogen, (and the sails of course) ..it is an amazing little machine, just trotting along behind us creating energy and keeping us in freezer, Pc, SSB, lights - the lot. The only small drawback is half a knot deficit which we can certainly NOT afford! but we go slowly forth with a beautifully carbon footprint -free conscience.

DEAR ARC , Maybe you should make an "Environmentally Friendly Crossing" prize for your celebratory year? However with the amount of plastic on our boat we would not be in the running! We can but try!!
