Cuvee - Day 8-9 Halyard retrieval

Thus 28 Nov - Thank you to our real “sailor” ascending the mast and retrieving the headsail halyard. No such luck on the spinnaker halyard, it has chafed through and cut so the rest of the journey will be without our weapon, the asymmetric so boat speed will drop form the rest of the trip. That has given us some more boat speed even though the wind has dropped out.
Next was to get something out of the freezer for dinner and pong, the front of the freezer has thawed out! 2 crew members took to the task of pulling the meat out and sorting it. Think we got someone else’s meat order as we found turkey that was discolored and causing the smell. Pulled out another couple of suspect packs and started cutting the packets and throwing out the burley. Didn’t attract any fish, not surprised if they have a nose.
By the time we got the freezer sorted remembered time for the genset. Got distracted by the freezer affair and forgot to open the cooling water supply, so the genset cut out! Managed to prime the water intake and reset the errors and get that underway. Started working on retrieving the halyards around 14:00 and didn’t didn’t get around to sitting down to dinner till after 20:00, didn’t that fill in the afternoon.

Frid 29 Nov - shower day, along with a rinse of a few clothes from their salt encrustations. Lolling along at just over 5 kts boat speed, very calm just cracking 13 kts wind in the gusts. Out with the water maker and top up the tanks. Quiet day on board just chilling and trying to stay cool. Really starting to warm up without a breeze.
Topped up the water tanks with the water maker after having showers and gave the batteries a good charge with the genset. A more relaxing day so after a BBQ of pork steaks, chips and sautéed veggies we had a movie night. Watched the Borne Identiity on the laptop set up in the cockpit with the sound through the cockpit speakers to create a surround sound effect. Very loud but I don’t think the fish mind!
