Tatt av Vinden - What a night on Tatt av vinden
This night it feels like somebody stole the trade winds. We are below 18N,
and the sea is absolutely calm. Until one oclock we had just so much wind that
the autopilot kept us on course, and during the day we had a light 8 – 10 kn. A
fantastic day! But nothing beats the bright skys with all its stars. It is the
night of no moon. The moon is on the same side as the sun, and the sky is left
to the stars and the planets alone. We saw Venus as bright as we never did. It
ruled entirely in its part of the sky. I woke up one hour before I should turn
in at midnight UTC. When I saw the beautiful scenario over me, I brought the
night carpet with me to the cockpit, lay down on my back, and took the sight all
in. In deep breaths. I felt so lucky, and so humble in the middle of the
universe, in this soft night, with the mild, light wind. After a while I fell
asleep under the stars, and had sweet dreams, while Eva kept the
watch.
